Lumina ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Catholic prayer and Bible verse app. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights under applicable law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Information stored only on your device
The following data is saved locally using your device's storage and is never sent to any server operated by us:
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly back it up through your device's own backup service (iCloud or Google Backup).
Anonymous usage analytics
We use PostHog to
collect anonymous, aggregated information about how the app is used — for example,
which prayer features are most popular and how often sessions are completed. No
personally identifiable information is included. Events are sent to PostHog's
EU-hosted servers (eu.i.posthog.com). A randomly generated anonymous
device identifier is used; we cannot link this to you as an individual.
Advertising
Free tier users see banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. Ads are configured to show non-personalised advertisements only — AdMob does not build a profile about you or use your data for ad targeting. Premium users see no advertisements at all.
In-app purchases
If you purchase the Premium upgrade, the transaction is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We use RevenueCat to verify and manage purchase entitlements. RevenueCat receives a purchase receipt from Apple or Google; it does not receive your payment card details.
The app connects to the following external services:
If you enable daily verse reminders, your device registers a push notification token with Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM). Notifications are scheduled locally on your device and do not require us to store or transmit any personal data. You can disable notifications at any time in the app's Settings screen or in your device's system settings.
Lumina is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Because almost all data is stored exclusively on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly by clearing the app's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the app. For any data held by our third-party analytics or purchase providers, please contact us and we will assist you.
Data stored on your device persists until you clear it or uninstall the app. Anonymous analytics events are retained by PostHog for up to 1 year. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat for the period required to manage your subscription/entitlement.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
